The Answer: YES! The average click rate for Facebook ads is 2% and we exceeded that with a 1-week trial focused in the bay area. A step farther, people were even willing to give their email to a business that doesn't even exist yet because they are excited to be apart of it.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>We posted an ad on Facebook that linked to a fake landing page letting people in the San Francisco Area know that The Healing House was coming their way and then gave them a place to give their email to be notified when it opens.  The Answer: YES! The average click rate for Facebook ads is 2% and we exceeded that with a 1-week trial focused in the bay area. A step farther, people were even willing to give their email to a business that doesn't even exist yet because they are excited to be apart of it.</image:caption>

He hates waiting in line and is always worried that if he walked to find somewhere else he would end up using his whole lunch break and not liking the food. When he does use yelp to find a new spot, he falls into the rabbit hole and wastes far too much time being indecisive. Ultimately, Ken just wants a quick lunch that he knows he will enjoy and more variety to his lunch routine.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>To get a better understanding of what challenges teachers face when teaching STEM classes, we went to a STEM teachers' convention in New Jersey. While we were there, we interviewed about 20 K-12 teachers as well as librarians and administrators. What we learned was that middle school is crucial for student engagement in stem if they want to pursue it as an elective in high school. Unfortunately, middle school and elementary teachers are less likely to be specialized in a STEM field and have a harder time creating engaging lessons for the class. Not to mention, they have a harder time getting their students to stay focused than high school teachers would.</image:caption>

We wanted to make sure we were solving the right problems, for the right people, and in the right ways. After drafting a business plan and outlining the services we would offer, we headed back out into the field to talk to more education professionals to get their feedback. Most of the feedback that we got was positivity and excitement, but the looming warning of the challenge of dealing with public school politics did not go unnoticed. We decided to run our pilot program with a group of charter schools in NYC because they had significantly more freedom in budgetary and operational decisions. Once we had built credibility, we would be able to roll out more easily in the traditional public schools.</image:caption>

The experience includes a face scan, a style assessment, product browsing, virtual try-on, a fit profile (where they can learn how to use their frame measurements and save them for later), and a tray which is the in-person equivalent to a shopping cart.</image:caption>

We found that while the large format screen that users could walk up to and interact with had a bigger impact, the smaller version that allowed them to sit down and take their time felt more comfortable to interact with and more private. Challenge: UI design for a kiosk The screen is about the size of a small tv in a portrait orientation, which allowed for a better view of the virtual try on. However, it made the placement of touch points very important. Users wanted to be able to rest their arm on the table while they scrolled and didn’t want to have to reach for any of the buttons. Challenge: Updated Visuals for existing brand This experience was designed for Eyeconic.com as they opened up their first brick and mortar locations. They wanted to maintain their brand identity while also capturing a younger, more casual audience.</image:caption>
